WHO WE ARE:

Tuggerah Lakes Care is a community group focused on the rehabilitation of the Tuggerah Lakes.

Our aim is to engage
local Council, State and Federal Governments to undertake Wrack Management works, Flood Mitigation and to facilitate
Storm Water management in the Tuggerah Lakes Catchment.

Tuggerah Lakes Care meetings are held bi monthly at Wallarah Bay Recreation Club, Wallarah Rd, Gorokan, 2nd Tuesday of that month at 7.00pm

WHY WE FORMED:

Despite the $20 million granted to Wyong Shire Council in 2008, with numerous  studies carried out  and various works undertaken to improve the lake system both upstream and around the foreshores,  little improvement was evident around the lakes themselves.  The build up of wrack, sediment, black ooze and algae was a major concern for residents living around the lakes and it was decided, enough was enough!   Not enough was being done to improve our lakes.     Thus Tuggerah Lakes Care  was formed at our inaugural meeting held  on the 9th May, 2012 and a dedicated and determined committee formed.

Tuggerah Lakes Care Inc. (TLC) was officially incorporated as a non-profit organisation in  August, 2012.

TLC  regularly assist in CEN Waterwatch testing and became a member of TIDY TOWNS  in November, 2012.

MEMBERS OF TLC:

Anyone interested in caring for our lakes: -  individuals,  sporting groups, clubs,  business owners, etc. are welcome to become members of TLC.  Meetings are held every two months  on the second Tuesday of that month at 7.00pm.  Next meeting is on Tuesday 12th  May, 2020 at Wallarah Bay Recreational Club.    Everyone is welcome to attend these public meetings.

WORKING TOGETHER:

Tuggerah Lakes Care Inc is more than willing to work with Local Council and relevant authorities for the betterment of our lakes.
