How You Can Help Clean Up The Lakes

The weed and wrack in the lakes have multiplied in recent years. This is partly due to an increase in rubbish (natural and man made) entering the lakes through the storm water system. The rubbish breaks down in the lake and provides nutrients for the weeds and wrack to grow.

Four Simple Things EVERYONE Can Do TO Improve Our Lakes

  • Clean up all grass/lawn clippings and dispose of them in you green bin.
  • Pick up after your pets at home and at in parks.
  • Wash your vehicle on the grass and NOT on the road.
  • Pick up all newspapers/rubbish on the nature strip, in gutters and storm water drains around your home.
  • If you need to dispose of household goods - contact Wyong Council for a rubbish pick up - all residents are entitled to 6 household rubbish pick ups per year.
